Emergency care services

How to proceed

Complete your Omaolo symptom assessment before seeking urgent medical attention. A symptom assessment will help you find out how urgent your need for medical attention is. Based on the symptom assessment, you will receive an evaluation of your need for medical attention grounded in medical research. When necessary, the symptom assessment will facilitate an appointment with a professional in your region.

If, based on the symptom assessment, you need urgent medical attention that cannot wait until the next weekday, please contact the clinics in accordance with the instructions below.

Daytime on weekdays

Porvoo, phone 019 5600 400

Porvoo Social and Health Centre, Askolinintie 1, Monday– Friday 8 a.m.– 3:30 p.m.

You can come to the emergency clinic without an appointment. We assess the urgency of your need for medical attention and determine whether you need to see a nurse or a doctor. We give priority to the children.

Call in advance if you are not sure of your need for urgent medical attention. We also provide care instructions and information about health services. Those answering the phone are health care professionals.

Sipoo, phone 019 5600 600

Nikkilä Social and Health Centre, Jussaksentie 14, Monday– Friday 8 a.m.– 4 p.m.

The emergency clinic operates on the basis of booking an appointment, but patients also arrive at the clinic without booking an appointment, for example by ambulance.

In the first place, we ask you to call the health centre before arriving at the emergency clinic. Choose “on-call matter” from the queue options and stay on the line to wait, or leave a call request. We will call back as soon as possible, on the same day.

Evenings and weekends

Medical Helpline 116 117

If you suddenly fall ill in the evening, during the weekend or on a holiday, call the Medical Helpline before arriving at the emergency clinic.

The Medical Helpline telephone service provides health advice focused on on-call matters and an assessment of the need for medical attention.

The Porvoo Hospital emergency clinic is located at Sairaalantie 1, Porvoo. The emergency clinic has a separate entrance on the entrance floor.

The Porvoo Hospital emergency clinic treats patients who have an acute medical condition and who need urgent medical attention. The hospital emergency clinic takes care of cases that must be addressed while the health centres are closed and the treatment cannot safely be postponed until the next weekday.

Call the Medical Helpline, phone 116 117, before arriving at the hospital emergency clinic.

If you have used the services of the Kymenlaakso wellbeing services county in the evenings and on weekends, you can still use these services. The agreement with the Kymenlaakso wellbeing services county does not apply to transport services provided by prehospital emergency medical services units. HUS’s prehospital emergency medical services manager decides on emergency medical transport beyond the area of the wellbeing services county.
