Zemppi, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for Children and Young People

Zemppi helps young people under age 22 who do not have access to student or occupational health care. We will help you if you have problems with your mental health or with alcohol or drugs. We also support parents of young people. The services of Zemppi are free.
If you have questions related to the Zemppi service, you can send an email to zemppi@itauusimaa.fi (opens in a new window). Please do not include personal information or other confidential matters in your email. We do not handle appointment bookings or care referrals via email. Instructions for those can be found at the end of this page.
The service is offered to children under 13 and their families. The service focuses especially on situations where a child has moderate mental health disorders or there are concerns about the child’s substance use. Access to care is guided by a social or healthcare professional. The service includes assessment of the child’s situation, treatment, and rehabilitation if needed.
If you are concerned about a child’s mental health or substance use, contact, for example, a maternity clinic, school health services, or social services. An electronic application for mental health and substance use services can be made for the child through this service.
The Children’s Mental Health and Substance Use Service operates in Porvoo in the premises of the Family Counseling Center, 2nd floor, at Mannerheiminkatu 20 E, 06100 Porvoo.

You can get help from us if you do not have student or occupational healthcare, or if the support you receive from them is not enough.
You can become a client if:
- you are 13–21 years old
- you are facing challenges with mental health or substance use
- the support from student or occupational healthcare is not sufficient
- you do not have student or occupational healthcare
We will first assess your situation. After that, we will know what kind of support you need and how we can help you. If necessary, we will guide you to the right service..
