The Social and Crisis emergency services will help you and you can get information fast about for example
- child welfare
- crisis within families.
Please contact the Social and Crisis Emergency Services if you need help fast. You can call the Social and Crisis Emergency Services when you or someone else needs help or support.
You can contact the Social and Crisis Emergency services for example in the following situations:
- There is an unexpected crisis, like the death of a loved one.
- You encounter a scary situation.
- You know of domestic violence, also called intimate partner abuse or family violence. This means that someone close to you hurts someone or treats someone badly.
- You know a child or a young person who does not feel safe at home.
- You know a person who is under 18 years of age and has problems with alcohol or drugs or problems with his or her mental health. You know of a person who is under 18 years of age who is involved in criminal or illegal behaviour.
- You are worried about the way an old person is being taken care of.
- You are worried about the way an adult is being taken care of.
- You need help because you do not have food.
- You do not have a bed for the night.
- The informal carer is hospitalised. (The informal carer is a person who takes care of an elderly parent, a child with special needs, a disabled relative or friend, or someone with a chronic illness.)
- You find a child in the street.
The Social and Crisis Emergency Services will also help you with other crises you meet in life.
Psychosocial support, also called emotional support, is urgent social and crisis work. It usually means that a professional helps you by talking to you. For example, you may need someone to talk to after a shocking event.
A professional can help you for example by talking to you on the phone. A professional can also support you
- at home
- when you are in the hospital for treatment or visiting someone at the hospital
- in premises of the Social and Crisis Emergency Services
- in another agreed place.
You can get support at all times (24/7).
The Social and Crisis Emergency Services is also ready to help if there is a major accident in Eastern Uusimaa. If a major accident happens, the Social and Crisis Emergency Services will give psychosocial (emotional) support to a large group of people.
