TBE- vaccine (Tick vaccine)
The TBE vaccine (tick-borne encephalitis vaccine) helps prevent tick-borne encephalitis.
The TBE primary vaccination series is free of charge for those who live permanently or are on a long-term holiday in the Sipoo archipelago (postcode 01120). We vaccinate people over 3 years of age.
Children under the age of 7 receive their vaccines at the child health clinic. We give the vaccine to people over 7 years of age at Nikkilä and Söderkulla health centres. Those eligible for free vaccination will receive their vaccine from the wellbeing services county where the vaccination programme area is located. The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) does not supply vaccines under the national immunisation programme to health centres in low-risk municipalities.
Those wishing to have the TBE vaccine at their own expense can contact their local health centre to arrange a prescription and book an appointment for the vaccination, either by telephone or via the HyVä-digi service. You must purchase the vaccine yourself from a pharmacy and bring it with you to the clinic.
